Club Brugge at San Siro today, and what Chivu said

Chivu: the dream has to become a responsibility

Chivu took the pre-match press conference at Appiano Gentile, Inter’s training ground, on Monday. He said the club’s standing demands that it chase every objective. There are no easy matches in the Champions League, he said, and he does not want his team to lose its identity even in defeat.

On the squad, Chivu said Çalhanoğlu is fit, and that “we’ll make a few changes.” Alessandro Bastoni, the defender, is available. Djed Spence, the wing back, is training again and played 25 minutes against Parma. Chivu said he is “getting fitter.” He also thanked Yann Sommer, Inter’s goalkeeper for three years, who is in Club Brugge’s goal today.

Akanji wants the top eight, and a home win first

Manuel Akanji, the Inter defender, spoke after his coach. He said the aim is to “finish in the top eight” of the league phase, and that it starts with a win at San Siro. He refused to call the match must-win: six league-phase matches follow this one.
