Club Brugge arrive second in Belgium, with Sommer in goal

Club Brugge have won seven of their first eight matches in the Belgian Pro League and sit second with 21 points, one behind Gent. In the Champions League they have no points either, after losing 3–2 at home to Aston Villa.

Ivan Leko, their head coach since 2025, plays a 4-2-3-1 that can become a 4-3-3. Inter's own analysis points to the high defensive line that Aston Villa punished on the counterattack.

Hans Vanaken, the captain, is the creative hub, and Yann Sommer, the former Inter goalkeeper, is in the Brugge goal.
