Inter Women win their Champions League debut, 1–0
Inter Women won the first Champions League match in their history on Tuesday night, beating BK Häcken of Sweden 1–0 at the Stadio Brianteo in Monza. Haley Bugeja, the Malta forward, scored in the fifth minute, and Inter came out of the opening round third in the league phase. The men do not play again until October 10, at home to Parma.

Inter Women win the first Champions League match in their history
Inter Women beat BK Häcken of Sweden 1–0 on Tuesday night at the Stadio Brianteo in Monza. Haley Bugeja, the Malta forward, scored in the fifth minute, and the lead held for the rest of the match.
Only Benfica and Arsenal have as many points so far. Inter's next match in the competition is away to Austria Wien on Thursday, October 1, at 12:45 PM ET.

Bugeja: a night she could not have dreamed of
"La partita di questa sera è qualcosa che non avrei potuto mai sognare nemmeno da bambina," Haley Bugeja said after scoring. In English — tonight's match is something she could never have dreamed of, not even as a child.
"Abbiamo fatto una prova molto matura, siamo andati in vantaggio subito," said David Sassarini, the Inter Women head coach. In English — a very mature performance, and they went ahead straight away.

Inter mark fifty years of Ronaldo Nazário
The club gave an episode of its daily podcast to Ronaldo Nazário, the Brazilian striker, at fifty. He was born on September 18, 1976, but his birth was registered on September 22, and that later date is the one Inter marked.
Inter's own count of his years there: 59 goals in 99 appearances, two serious injuries, and a return after eighteen months out.

FCInterNews: Dimarco's withdrawal was precaution, not injury
Federico Dimarco, the Inter left back, left Italy's camp with a knee problem, as this newsletter reported yesterday. FCInterNews now says, on its own reporting, that it was a precaution and not a new injury.
Its words: "Semplice, banale precauzione. Nessun allarmismo." In English — a simple, ordinary precaution, no cause for alarm. Italy's staff agreed he was not yet at his best and called up Matteo Ruggeri in his place.

Gazzetta: Inter are taking no chances with Calhanoglu
Hakan Calhanoglu, the Inter and Turkey midfielder, was left out of Turkey's squad. Gazzetta dello Sport, Italy's biggest sports daily, says he has a strain in the adductor of his right thigh.
The paper says "la parola d'ordine è cautela" — the watchword is caution — and that Cristian Chivu, the Inter head coach, will not rush him back. Calhanoglu wants to start at home to Parma, but no chances will be taken.
