Inter Women find out this morning who they play in Europe: the Champions League league-phase draw is in Nyon at 6:00 AM ET, and Inter go in from Pot 3 for the first time in the club’s history. Chivu’s men are a day from Napoli at San Siro, with eight of the eleven reportedly settled and Djed Spence reported out of both that one and Real Madrid. And the club marks twenty years today since Giacinto Facchetti died.

Inter Women learn their Champions League opponents this morning
The draw for the 18-team league phase is at UEFA headquarters in Nyon at 6:00 AM ET, 12:00 CEST. Inter go in from Pot 3, alongside Manchester City, OH Leuven, HB Køge, Austria Wien and Servette, and will be drawn six opponents — two from each of the three pots, three at home and three away. Clubs from the same country cannot be paired, so no Italian side can come out against them.
The league phase runs from matchday 1 on September 22–23 to matchday 6 on December 16. The top four go straight to the quarter-finals; fifth through twelfth play off for the last four places. Inter are in it for the first time, after coming from two goals down to knock out Wolfsburg in the third qualifying round on Tuesday.
UEFA labels the hour CET and Inter labels it CEST. In September those are the same clock, and either way it is 6:00 in the morning in New York.

The Champions League list is filed, and the new men are all on it
Inter submitted their League Phase squad to UEFA on Wednesday, six days before the Bernabéu. John Stones, Curtis Jones and Djed Spence are all on List A, with Benjamin Pavard and Ivan Provedel. Aleksandar Stankovic and Francesco Pio Esposito go on List B, the club-trained list, which does not count against the 25.
The goalkeepers are Josep Martínez, Raffaele Di Gennaro and Provedel. The defenders are Stones, Manuel Akanji, Pavard, Carlos Augusto, Yann Aurel Bisseck, Federico Dimarco, Alessandro Bastoni and Spence. In midfield and attack: Piotr Zieliński, Petar Sučić, Lautaro Martínez, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Jones, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Nicolò Barella, Andy Diouf, Marcus Thuram, Luis Henrique and Ange-Yoan Bonny.
Being on the list and being fit are different questions. What the papers say about Spence prints on pink below.

The calendar is set into November, and the derby falls on Halloween
Lega Serie A has published dates and kickoff times through matchday 12. Milan–Inter is Saturday, October 31 at 3:45 PM ET, 20:45 in Milan. That is 3:45 and not the usual 2:45 because Europe puts its clocks back on October 25 and the United States does not follow until November 1; for that one week the gap between Milan and New York is five hours instead of six.
The rest of it: Inter–Parma on Saturday, October 10 at 12:00 PM ET, 18:00 CEST; Bologna–Inter on October 17 at the same hour; Inter–Fiorentina in the Sunday lunchtime slot on October 25; Venezia away on Wednesday, October 28; Inter–Como on November 8; Atalanta away on November 22.
Matchday 4 had already moved. Inter–Udinese is Monday, September 14 at 2:45 PM ET, 20:45 CEST, pushed off the weekend by the Lega to clear the Champions League week.

Napoli arrive with Allegri, and one defeat already
Inter’s own opposition analysis reads Napoli at a win and a loss: three points away at Genoa, then a first defeat of the season against Como. Massimiliano Allegri took the job in the summer, after two years of Antonio Conte. The shape is 4-3-3, built to play out from the back and then go vertical in a hurry, with Stanislav Lobotka setting the tempo and Kevin De Bruyne through the middle in place of the unavailable Scott McTominay; Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Amir Rrahmani are the spine of the defense.
The club’s own read on where Napoli can be got at: they have been vulnerable when pressed high. Inter go in with a perfect record.

Twenty years without Facchetti
The club marked the anniversary this morning. Giacinto Facchetti — captain of the Grande Inter, then the club’s president — died on September 4, 2006, at 64. Inter’s piece walks through his last months: his final night at San Siro for the Coppa Italia in May, Marco Materazzi bringing the Supercoppa to his hospital room in August, and the funeral at Sant’Ambrogio two days after his death, with more than 10,000 people there.
The Primavera championship and the Interello training center both carry his name. Esteban Cambiasso wore his number 3 for the Scudetto in 2006–07 and again for the Champions League in 2010.

Chivu has eight of the eleven, and Spence misses Napoli and Madrid
Raffaele Caruso for Sky Sport Italia, read by FCInterNews, has Chivu settled on eight names for Saturday: Josep Martínez in goal; Bisseck and Bastoni across the back; Barella and Çalhanoğlu in midfield; Diouf and Dimarco on the flanks; Lautaro at the front. Three places are still open in the report — Akanji or Stones in the middle of the defense, Curtis Jones or Zieliński in midfield, and whoever starts beside the captain.
The same report has Djed Spence missing both Napoli and Real Madrid. The aim is to get him back into full training next week, with a bench place against Udinese on September 14 the earliest he might appear.
Inter have published no team news and no fitness bulletin this week. None of this is the club’s.

Dimarco’s renewal lands on Baccin’s desk — and it does not expire in 2027
Gazzetta dello Sport, read by FCInterNews, puts Federico Dimarco’s renewal at the top of the new Chief Sport Officer’s in-tray, behind only Pio Esposito’s. Dimarco said at the Gran Galà on Wednesday night that nobody at the club had raised it with him.
This morning the same paper, relayed by FCIN1908, corrects the premise. The deal does not run out in 2027: Inter exercised a unilateral option that carries it to 2028, and the paper’s reading is that the club is therefore in no rush — “l’Inter, in sostanza, non ha fretta” — and will come back to it during the season. Dimarco turns 29 in November.
Inter have published nothing on Dimarco’s contract. Nor on Esposito’s, which the papers reported signed to 2032 on Monday and which still has no club release, three days on.

10′ Hakan Çalhanoğlu
A right-footed shot from outside the box, past Caprile, and Inter carried it the rest of the afternoon. Six points from two matchdays, five goals scored, and second in the table on the Lega’s own reckoning. There has been no match since, and Napoli is the next one.
Inter.it times the goal at 10 minutes and credits no assist; that is the version printed here, as always.
