Inter and Piero Ausilio parted last night after 28 years, and Dario Baccin is the club’s new Chief Sport Officer. An hour later at La Scala, Inter collected seven awards at the Gran Galà del Calcio and Federico Dimarco was named player of the season — then told Sky that nobody has raised his own contract with him. The women’s Champions League draw is in Nyon on Friday at 6:00 AM ET.

Ausilio leaves after 28 years; Baccin takes the sporting office
Inter published the separation at 9:00 PM in Milan on Wednesday, 3:00 PM ET: the club and Piero Ausilio have agreed to part by mutual consent, and Dario Baccin, his deputy since 2017, becomes Chief Sport Officer with immediate effect. Ausilio had been at Inter for about 28 years and had run the sporting and technical area since February 2014. The club’s release counts nine trophies in that time — three Serie A titles, three Coppa Italia, three Supercoppa — and three European finals.
The club gives no reason for the split beyond the words “consensual.” What the papers have added to that prints on pink below.

Seven awards at La Scala, and Dimarco is player of the season
At the Gran Galà del Calcio AIC at the Teatro alla Scala on Wednesday evening, Inter took seven prizes: club of the season, collected by Marotta; Federico Dimarco as player of the season; and five places in the team of the season — Dimarco, Manuel Akanji and Alessandro Bastoni in defense, Hakan Çalhanoğlu in midfield, Lautaro Martínez in attack. The club ties the haul to last season’s double, a 21st Scudetto and a tenth Coppa Italia, and records Dimarco’s 18 assists as a Serie A record and Lautaro’s 17 goals as the division’s best.
Marotta, to Inter TV on the week in front of the team: “Sono partite molto affascinanti, anche se non determinanti per il risultato finale” — fascinating matches, he said of Napoli and Real Madrid, but not ones that decide anything.

The women’s Champions League draw is Friday morning
A day after coming from two down to beat Wolfsburg on penalties, Inter Women learn their league-phase opponents at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon on Friday, September 4 at 6:00 AM ET, 12:00 CEST. Inter go in from Pot 3 and will be drawn six opponents, two from each pot, home and away; clubs from the same association cannot be paired, so no Italian side can come out against them.

Napoli on Saturday: the build-up, and where to watch
The squad trained on Wednesday morning at the club's training complex in Appiano Gentile under Cristian Chivu, and Inter published the photographs. Inter–Napoli, matchday 3, kicks off Saturday, September 5 at 12:00 PM ET, 18:00 CEST, and is a DAZN exclusive in Italy; Inter TV and the club’s YouTube channel open their build-up at 11:15 AM ET, 17:15 CEST. Inter have issued no fitness bulletin this week, on Marcus Thuram or anyone else.

Why Ausilio went, and whether someone else follows Baccin in
Corriere della Sera, read by FCIN1908, has Ausilio asking for a three-year deal and roughly €300,000 on top of a salary the paper puts at €1.3m plus bonuses, and Inter answering with one more year, to 2028, and €100,000. Corriere dello Sport this morning reads that one-year offer as the signal from Oaktree, calls it “la fine di un’era,” and adds that it will become clear later whether another figure, “magari proveniente dall’estero,” is brought in alongside Baccin.
None of the figures, and none of the reasoning, appears in the club’s statement.

Lautaro: the Barcelona talk was real, and he stayed anyway
Lautaro Martínez, to Sky at the gala: “Le voci uscite erano vere. Ma io alla fine sono voluto restare qua insieme alla mia gente” — the rumors were true, but in the end he wanted to stay here with his people. On the contract: “Oggi ho un contratto e sono contento. Ho scelto ancora di restare perché mi sento bene e ho voglia di fare grandi cose all’Inter,” and then, more flatly, “Finché mi vogliono starò qua.”
No club has ever confirmed an approach, and Inter have published nothing about the captain’s contract.

Dimarco: player of the season, and nobody has mentioned a renewal
An hour after collecting the award, Dimarco told Sky that his own contract has not come up: “Al momento non ne abbiamo ancora parlato. Speravo che succedesse, visto come è finita la scorsa stagione, ci sarà modo di parlarne prossimamente.” On Saturday: “Il Napoli è forte, è arrivato secondo l’anno scorso. Non lo battiamo da diverse partite, dovremo portare a casa tre punti fondamentali.” He learned of Ausilio’s exit, he said, from the papers after training.

Esposito’s renewal: a second day, and still no announcement
Yesterday’s edition carried Sky’s report that Pio Esposito had signed to 2032. A day on, Inter have published nothing, and the press does not agree on the shape of it. Calcio e Finanza reads it as a straight six-year contract to June 30, 2032, worth about €2.7m net a season, which it costs the club at roughly €4.99m gross; Luca Marchetti on Sky, relayed by Internews24, has five years with an option for a sixth. Internews24’s own line is that the agreement “attende soltanto il comunicato ufficiale.”
Until a club release lands, this stays on pink.

A right-footed strike from outside the box past Caprile on 10 minutes, and that was the afternoon: Inter had the ball and the better chances without ever putting the game away. Curtis Jones came on for Petar Sučić on 65 minutes for his debut. Unchanged since Sunday — Napoli is the next one.
