The club puts a name on Çalhanoğlu's injury
Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Inter's deep-lying midfielder, had scans on Tuesday morning at the Istituto Clinico Humanitas in Rozzano. The club's statement runs three lines. "Gli esami hanno evidenziato un risentimento muscolare all'adduttore della coscia destra" — the tests showed a muscle strain in the adductor of his right thigh.
Inter set no return date and made no mention of Saturday at the Olimpico. He will be reassessed over the coming days.

Genoa come out of the Coppa Italia draw
Genoa beat Südtirol 1–0 at home on Tuesday, a goal in the 87th minute settling it. That sends them into Inter's half of the bracket. Inter hold the trophy and are the competition's top seed, so they enter at the round of 16.
The tie falls on one of three Wednesdays — December 2, December 16 or January 13. Lega Serie A has fixed neither the date nor the venue.

The U23s win at Crotone
Inter's under-23 team won 2–0 at Crotone on Tuesday, a first win after two defeats. Crotone played from the 32nd minute with ten men, after a red card for a foul on Matteo Lavelli. Matias Mancuso volleyed in the opener in the 67th minute, Lavelli scored the second in the 89th, and the U23s move to seven points from five matches in Serie C.

Sky: the Parma match is the target
Sky Sport Italia reports that Inter's medical staff are aiming Çalhanoğlu at the Parma match on October 10. That would rule him out of Saturday at the Olimpico and carry him through the international break. Players are away with their national teams from September 21 to October 6.
Edition No. 14 carried Sky's report that he was a doubt for Roma. New today is a target date.

Gazzetta: Stones back after the break
Gazzetta dello Sport, Italy's biggest sports daily, has a first return window for John Stones. The paper describes "un risentimento ai flessori della coscia sinistra" — a strain in the hamstring of his left thigh — and expects him back after the break. Stones, the defender signed this summer, came off in the 61st minute against Udinese.
Sky Sport Italia says further scans were set for today, so a firmer answer should arrive within hours.
Edition No. 14 had Stones as a doubt with tests due. New today is a first expected return window.
